Juliet Low

A goldsmith and jewellery designer-maker by profession, extrovert and creative by nature….
Travel and adventure are at the heart of who I am. I was born and brought up in Kenya, have lived in Ireland and South Africa and am now living in England. I studied jewellery design and manufacture in Cape Town. I am passionate about Africa, drawing inspiration from the people and their cultures, from the vividness of the colours and natural materials, and from the animals that live there. I have developed a keen eye for detail. My signature style speaks to who I am as an artist and jeweller.
I use the traditional tools and specialist techniques of a goldsmith, many of which have changed little down the ages; the hammer and the anvil still play leading roles. I believe that quality is more important than quantity, and my pieces are individually designed and handcrafted as wearable art. I pride myself on design integrity, authenticity and the highest quality of craftsmanship. This creative magic takes shape in my workshop located in the heart of Birmingham's famous jewellery quarter. I work mainly in British assay quality sterling silver.
One of my earliest memories is gathering seashells on the beach with my dad. I have always been drawn to art forms in nature and am an avid collector of organically found treasures, be they shells, feathers, seeds or pebbles. They are a continual source of inspiration and a featured theme in my creations. I seek to express the raw beauty of nature in my refined and delicate pieces, recognising that in the natural world no two forms or patterns are identical. My designs are unique and one of a kind.
….Be your own kind of beautiful, be you!
